CAMP HILL --- The Mifflin County field hockey team raised the championship trophy, defeating multiple-time defending champs and host Camp Hill in the final, 5-4, in overtime this weekend. Camp Hill and the Huskies played in the championship match a year ago, with the 0-0 regulation final score being sent straight to a shootout the Lions won in sudden death. The 52nd running of the Big Valley Invitational Cross Country meet will take place at the Indian Valley Elementary Center today with the race starting at 9 a.m. Junior High runners will start and JV boys run at 9:30, varsity girls at 10, varsity boys at 10:30 and JV girls at 11. The meet began over 50 years ago by Kish cross country coach Bill Solova and the Rotary Club of Lewistown, which still helps sponsor the race, along with the Juniata Valley Striders Running Club.
