SELINSGROVE — Selinsgrove boys soccer beat Mifflin County (2-12-3) on Wednesday, 3-0.
The Seals outshot MC, 11-3. The home team also tallied more corners, 5-2.
The Huskies had more saves, 8-3.
Mifflin County assistant coach Todd R. Peters said, “Selinsgrove came out fast and put heavy pressure on us early. We did tend to try to do too much with the ball when limited touches would've been best. Their first goal came from Toskey working hard and stealing the ball and shooting early almost ten minutes into the match. Then, with 24:41 left they hit a header off a corner, back across the goal to an unmarked player that finished it for 2-0 at half. We encourage our boys to put some balls in behind them and it put some more pressure on them throughout the second half but we couldn't manufacture getting a goal back. They got one late with 6:46 left when Kratzer snuck in behind are stretched team that pushed forward.”
The JV Seals beat MC, 1-0.
