Lock Haven names Rick Terry women’s golf coach

LOCK HAVEN — Rick Terry has been named the new head women’s golf coach at Lock Haven.

As a two-time graduate from Lock Haven and a former NCAA DI and DII collegiate golfer, Terry brings a unique blend of experience that directly aligns with the needs of developing The Haven women’s golf program.

“We are pleased to welcome Rick Terry as head coach of the women’s golf program at Lock Haven,” said Jeff Osgood, Commonwealth University Interim President. “I’m confident the program will grow and succeed under Rick’s leadership.”

Terry played collegiate golf at the highest levels, competing for NCAA DI Vermont (1979-80) and Lock Haven (1982-83).

Currently, he is an active member of the Veterans Golf Association (VGA), where he was the 2021 Vet C and Senior Vet C National Champion.

“Lock Haven athletics is excited to welcome Rick as the next head coach of the women’s golf program,” said Albert Jones, Director of Athletics. “Rick’s leadership and motivational personality will provide an immediate impact in moving the program forward.”

Terry’s professional background includes over 25 years of leadership, training, mentoring and project management.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to return to my alma mater and lead the Lock Haven women’s golf program,” Terry said. “I have a deep respect for the game and for what it demands, and I’m passionate about helping our student-athletes pursue excellence together. We will approach each day with purpose and represent Lock Haven with pride.”

Terry is currently a leading business advisor with the Innovative Manufacturers’ Center. He is also a United States Army veteran, having served as a Platoon Leader and Detachment Commander for Special Operations Unit.
