MIFFLINBURG — Mifflin County moved to 2-0 on the year with a dominant 81-13 win over Sayre in the Wildcat Winter Classic on Friday.

The Huskies had a dominant start on defense and led 43-2 at the half.

The Huskies have scored more points through two games than any team in program history while averaging 83 points through the first two games of the season.

The Huskies had three players in double figures, with senior Josh Hartzler leading the way with 13 points. Juniors Carson Franklin and Jack Curry also added 12 apiece.

Mifflin County is 2-0 for the third straight season and look to win the Wildcat Winter Classic tonight.

JV is set to tip at 6 with varsity to follow at 7:30.

Rams topple Huskies, 47-16

SPRING MILLS — Penns Valley dropped Mifflin County wrestling on Thursday, 47-16.

Husky Andrew Alexander pinned Blake Brumbaugh during the 114-pound bout at 1:16.

At 107, Husky Ethan Johnson defeated Cayden Myers, 8-5.

At 152, Layten Bowersox got a 10-9 decision over Ram Sawyer Fetterolf.

Huskies’ Brian Albert earned an 18-7 major decision against Seth Fetterolf during the 160-pound bout.

Next, the Huskies (0-1) head to Central Mountain on Tuesday.
