MIFFLINTOWN – There will be plenty of familiar faces on the sidelines for athletic teams for the Juniata Indians and East Juniata Tigers this fall, along with a few new ones.

The East Juniata girls soccer team will have a new head coach as Brian Robinson was approved by the Juniata County School District Board of Directors on Wednesday night during the school board’s monthly meeting at the administration office in Mifflintown.

Robinson served as an assistant coach under former Tiger coach Tom Feltman. In addition to Robinson, Kierstyn Fogle and Alyssa Robinson were approved as volunteer coaches for the Tiger booters.

Additionally, Madison Sheaffer was approved as the new head coach for the East Juniata field hockey team, which hopes to return to play after a one-year absence.

For the East Juniata boys soccer team, Tyler Inch returns as head coach. Tony Kauffman was approved as his assistant coach, with Tim Black and Andrew Hunter serving as volunteer coaches.

Mike Zendt will return as East Juniata’s golf coach, while Chloe Rougeau is back as the Tigers’ head volleyball coach. Also approved was Courtney Whitesel as the assistant volleyball coach.

Juniata High School

Kurt Condo returns to the gridiron as head coach of the Juniata Indians this fall. He was approved by the school board as were assistant coaches Steve McLaughlin, Marcus Brothers, Caleb Shertzer, Colton Shertzer and Dylan Smith. Serving as volunteer head coaches are Al Ream, Steve Harris, Fletcher Hart, Tyler Clark, James McLaughlin, Jacob Condo and Caleb Smith.

Garrick Paden will coach the Juniata girls soccer team, with Laresa Paden as the assistant coach and Ellie Shepps and Josie Swartz serving as volunteer coaches.

On the boys side, Jared Byler was approved as Juniata soccer head coach, with Levi Harper as the assistant coach and Johnny Dessin and Barrett Walters serving as volunteer coaches.

Layne Greenholt will be the Juniata head volleyball coach this fall, with Susan Paden as an assistant and Jordan Taylor as a volunteer coach.

Jeff Miller returns as the Juniata cross country coach, while Marissa Boyer will be the cheerleading coach.

East Juniata Junior High

Wed Rickenbaugh will serve as the East Juniata Junior High School boys soccer head coach, with Derek Bryner serving as his assistant coach.

Tuscarora Junior High

Ryan Leister was approved as the head football coach at Tuscarora Junior High School, with Ben Lauver as his assistant coach.

For cross country, Shari Miller will be the junior high coach, while Chris Alderfer was hired as the boys soccer head coach and Zane Hazard as his assistant coach.
