‘Smart’phones don’t make users smarter To the Editor: We no longer live in a world where it is that people say “I wonder….” I grew up in a time when that was the most prevalent question asked. We were lucky if someone around us knew the answer to our inquiry. Reader: My 2024 wishlist for Santa To the Editor: Dear Santa, My first wish is for a county-wide public school administration that benefits students educationally and taxpayers financially, while increasing the number of teachers in order to reduce class sizes. May we imitate the example of Mary To the Editor: As a Catholic, I was very pleased and impressed with Father Weary’s recent response (on 12/13) to the false claim that we believe Mary is divine. Excellently he showed our basic beliefs about Mary, and I hope everyone recognized a few qualities about these tenants of our faith. First, they’re scriptural. The Catholic view of the blessed virgin To the Editor: Long overdue, this is in part a response to an Aug. 26-27 article in The Sentinel about the pope’s trip to Mongolia. It contained a couple of interesting but inaccurate paragraphs on church history and doctrine. Written by a news platform called The Conversation, the unnamed writer did a pretty good treatment of an ancient 4th-5th century heresy called Nestorianism.
