Hard work made 28th

Day of Caring successful

To the Editor:

Thank you to everyone that made the 28th Day of Caring a success!

The United Way of Mifflin-Juniata kicked off the 2026 annual fundraising campaign with the 28th Annual Day of Caring on Wednesday, Sept, 17. Approximately 424 volunteers spent the day painting, landscaping, building and cleaning. This year’s effort helped 39 different non-profit agencies and government entities throughout Mifflin and Juniata counties.

The assistance that agencies receive through Day of Caring is critical. For the volunteer, the experience was uplifting. By giving people the chance to be directly involved, they come away with a great sense accomplishment because they know they’ve helped a neighbor.

Helping one another is what makes our community strong. Special thanks to the sponsors who donated products, services and funding.
