Constance June (Cameron) Camp
Constance June (Cameron) Camp, beloved wife of Barry, passed away peacefully at 4:14 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026 at her home outside of Benfer, Pa. Connie was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend.
Connie was born on June 17, 1942, at F.W. Black Hospital in Lewistown to J. Marvin and Pauline (Bair) Cameron. As a young girl, she lived in Reading, Lock Haven and Thompsontown. At the age of 10, Connie and sister Barb moved to Beaver Springs where Marv and Pauli purchased and operated a chicken hatchery across the street from a farm field that soon became the home of West Snyder High School.
Connie attended elementary school on Snyder Avenue in Beaver Springs, Beaver Vocational High School and was part of the fourth graduating class of West Snyder High School in 1960. In high school with Cameron right before Camp, she found herself being teased and flirted with by a boy named Barry at her locker every day. They did not date, however, until a fateful meeting at the Beaver Fair during a weekend home from college. On Barry’s 21st birthday, they married in Beaver Springs and their marriage of more than 62 years was filled with laughter, love and many adventures. She was the “C” of B and C Auto Parts. They were each other’s true love.
Connie, the first in her family to attend college, had the makings of a teacher at an early age. She graduated from Bloomsburg University in December of 1963. After doing her student teaching at Freeburg and Selinsgrove, she settled into teaching first and second grades at Beaver Adams Elementary for 35 years. She was a treasured teacher to nearly a thousand students instilling a love for reading and keeping kids in line in the classroom, hallways and playground. Whether you got a gold star on your spelling test or were told to go stand in the corner, you were her favorite.
Connie was a fixture on the sprint car racing scene as she supported Barry throughout his long and successful career. She formed so many wonderful friendships over the years at the races, none bigger than her kinship with her best friend and partner in crime, Kathy. Connie kept meticulous stats, newspaper clippings, programs and photos. She will forever be our Blue Angel.
Connie loved the beach and in the late ’70s talked Barry into trips to Chincoteague and Delaware. They soon bought a small fixer-upper cottage in Oak Orchard, and eventually a dream cottage on the Indian River where Con could plant flowers and Barry could have his fishing boat. She made the best fried fish from the catch of the day brought home by Barry. They spent more than 40 summers in Delaware together, building a lovely social circle of friends and neighbors.
Connie loved her kids, grandkids and the most recent apple of her eye, great-grandchild, Mia. She attended tons of their sporting events, vacationed in spots like Disney World and Omaha, and always slipped them cash anytime she saw them.
Connie had the honor of hosting exchange student father-son duo Hilton and Victor Morbin and considered their whole family as part of hers. She was a loving cat mom, iPad surfer, post-it note writer, country music fan, sunbather, trip planner and photographer. True to her 1962 Snyder County Poultry Queen sash, she was beautiful, glamorous, strong, stubborn and funny. As her final chapter closed, she was thankful to be able to remain in her home while she received wonderful care from Karen Aumiller and her own family.
Connie is survived by her husband Barry, children Troy and wife Robin, and Roz and husband Brett Erb; grandchildren, Nick (Tabitha), Trevir (Ashley), Allie (Tony), Jonah and Kinsey; great-grandchild, Mia; sister, Barb Dolin; niece, Pam (Dave) Clark; sister and brother-in-law Marlene and Richard Henry; and numerous loving extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marv and Pauli; Barry’s parents, Curvin and Gladys; and in-laws, Rosel Dolin and Charlotte and Juan Trogani.
Services will be held at Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown on Monday, July 13. Viewing and visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon. A funeral service will be held at noon with Pastors Tim Reich and Darvin Reich officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Independent Bible Church Cemetery, Middle Road, Beavertown.
