Inez Southard Parker Beachley
Inez Southard Parker Beachley, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandma, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Good Friday, April 3, 2026.
Born on April 11, 1939, in Mifflintown, to E. Southard Parker and Inez Sarver Parker.
She shared a life of partnership, travel, and devotion with her beloved husband, Orville T. Beachley Jr., who preceded her in death in 2018. They met on a blind date and married on June 23, 1962, in Mifflintown — a love story that carried them to England, exploring Europe, and building a home and family in Buffalo, New York.
A graduate of Juniata Joint High School in 1957 and Millersville State College in 1961, Inez was an elementary teacher, reflecting her warmth and love of nurturing others. She became a Master Gardener, finding joy in cultivating beauty and in simple pleasures like bird watching, flower arranging, antiquing, and preserving family history.
She had a deep love of music and was a talented soprano whose voice filled any room. She was also an exceptional cook who loved gathering others around the table and hosting memorable celebrations — from lively St. Nicholas parties to special family Christmases, all filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
One of her greatest joys was raising and releasing monarch butterflies, a reflection of her gentle spirit and appreciation for life’s quiet miracles. Inez traveled to Mexico with her sister to witness the monarch butterfly migration, a memory she treasured deeply.
While she made a home in Buffalo, Pennsylvania always held her heart. She found peace in the rolling hills and beauty of Juniata County. She relocated six years ago to Atlanta to be near her daughter, cherishing their time together.
A devoted follower of Jesus and member of Christ Methodist Church, Snyder, N.Y., Inez lived her faith through actions, always putting others before herself, offering kindness, comfort and love.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Beachley Harty of Atlanta, Georgia; her son, Andrew T. Beachley (Robin) of Charlotte, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Abigail, Madison, and Parker; her sister, Jennie Parker Meiser (Terry) of Mifflin; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery in Mifflintown, on Friday, April 10, at 1:30 pm with Pastor Jodi Strawser officiating.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 10 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown. Interment will take place at Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown alongside her beloved husband.
