Bonita Jean ‘Bonnie’ Gallagher
Bonita Jean “Bonnie” Gallagher, 79, of Lititz, formerly from Lewistown, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026. Born in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Miriam (Zettle) Kauffman. She shared over 55 years of beautiful memories with her husband John D. Gallagher prior to his passing in 2023.
Bonnie obtained two bachelor’s degrees in education and worked as an elementary school teacher for over 30 years. She cherished her husband and spent time with him traveling and enjoying the outdoors. Bonnie was proud of her garden, liked to sew and paint, and enjoyed hiking and riding her bike. Most of all, she loved the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Bonnie’s legacy will live on in her two sons: John Thomas Gallagher (Paula) of Charlottsville, VA, and Micah Jed Gallagher (Heather) of Conestoga, PA; 4 grandchildren: Hannah, Matthew, Logan, and Austin Gallagher; brother Tom Kauffman (Nancy) of Lewistown, and sister-in-law Barbara Petrone (Bill) of Coraopolis.
The family will receive guests from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Spacht-Snyder Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 127 S. Broad St, Lititz, PA 17543, with a service to be held at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
