Ruth E. Wagner
Ruth E. Wagner, 83, of Granville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Born on Jan. 13, 1943, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Clyde B. Stewart and Janice (Newman) Shover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence A. Wagner, and a sister, Sandra Heider.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Christine Watts and her husband, Charles, of Lewistown; Lisa Watts and her husband, Bryan, of Wisconsin; and Julie Whitsel and her husband, Dennis, of Granville. She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great- grandchildren, and her siblings: Kenneth Stewart of Swatara; Janice Gutshall of Lewistown; Dorothy Porpotage and her husband, Mike, of Lewistown; Peggy Hetrick and her husband, Allen, of McClure; and Harry âTomã Stewart, of Lewistown.
A devoted member of Granville United Methodist Church for many years, Ruth found joy in simple pleasures. She loved working on puzzles, cross-stitching and various crafts. She will be fondly remembered by her family for her iconic ham and bean pot pie, a favorite dish eagerly requested by her grandchildren. Above all, Ruth cherished the time she spent with her family, especially during their summer vacations together.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Juniata Memorial Park, 9010 US-522, Lewistown, with Pastor Kim Cartwright officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
