David I. Swarey
David I. Swarey died Wednesday, March 11 at the age of 73 of Canajoharie, N.Y., at his residence.
Born June 4, 1952, in Belleville, he was the son of the late David C. and Rebeca Swarey.
Swarey married Katie H. Yoder Nov. 15, 1975.
Surviving are his wife, Katie A. (Yoder) Swarey and eight children, Daniel Swarey and wife, Fannie, of Homesville, Ohio, Thomas D. Swarey and wife, Ruth, of Fort Plain, N.Y., Susanne M. Zook and husband, David, of Allensville, Melvin Swarey, of Fort Plain, N.Y., Mariam L. Zook and husband, Jonathan, of Big Prairie, Ohio, Amos J. Swarey and wife, Louella, of Allensville, Christopher N. Swarey, of North Pole, Alaska, Rhoda M. Kauffman and husband, Samuel, of Canajoherie, N.Y., 35 grandchildren and seven great grandchildrn.
Swarey was preceded in death by baby daughters, Mollie F. Swarey, Rebecca Ann Swarey, his parents and four brothers.
Mr. Swarey’s occupation was a metal worker for many years.
He was a member of the old order Amish church.
His family will receive friends until the funeral services which are held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, lord willing, at 221 McPheil Road.
