Harold K. Kauffman

Born on Feb. 26, 1932 in Mifflintown, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Lincoln Kauffman and Ruth (Shallenberger) Kauffman. He was blessed to share more than 70 of marriage with his surviving wife, Mary Sue ( Portzline) Kauffman.

Along with his wife he is survived by his son, Jeffrey Kauffman, grandchildren, Holly Cabell and husband, Fred and Josh Kauffman. Harold is also survived by great-grandchildren Claire, Vivian and Charlotte Cabell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Harold “Kurtz” Kauffman, Jr. and a granddaughter, Jennifer Kauffman.

Harold proudly served his country in the US Army. In earlier life Mr. Kauffman worked on the railroad, Precision Ware in Thompsontown, and in 1960 he became a full-time farmer.

Mr. Kauffman was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown, the Millerstown Moose Lodge No. 925, and the PA Farm Bureau. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with Hemlock Springs Lodge and the last 10 years with the Scott Ehrenzeller family. He also enjoyed going out to eat with his wife in Mifflin and Juniata Counties.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026 at Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Pastor Mindy Petrovcic officiating. Interment will be private in Goodwill Cemetery, McAlisterville.

A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Kauffman’s memory may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 109 N. Third Street, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
