David William Harpster

David William Harpster, 70, of Burnham, passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at his home.

Born on July 4, 1955, in Lewistown, David was the beloved son of the late Arthur Harpster Sr. and Genevieve (Fultz) Harpster. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Harpster and Steve Harpster, as well as his sister, Gloria Amspacker, and her husband, Dale.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Jean (Shivery) Harpster, whom he married July 11, 1987; a son, Jeremy Harpster, of Burnham; siblings, Arthur Harpster Jr. and wife, Rose, of Lewistown and Melissa Phillips and husband, Guy, of Yeagertown; and sisters-in-law, Jennifer Harpster and Cindy Peck, of Reedville.

He was a 1974 graduate of Chief Logan High School.

He was a United States Army veteran.

David was a member of Little Valley Presbyterian Church in Vira, and later found fellowship with East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian in Reedsville.

He dedicated 26 years of service to Jarden Plastics, where he eventually retired. He also worked at Bilgers Fuel Company during his career.

David enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting. He was deeply involved in his community, serving as Captain of the Fire Police, Forest Fire Warden, and part of the Auxiliary Police.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 1st Ave., Burnham, PA 17009.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor David’s memory are invited to make memorial contributions to East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, 100 Walnut St., Reedsville, PA 17084.
