David J. Peachey
David J. Peachey, 69, of Belleville, passed away peacefully Oct. 1, 2025, at home after a period of declining health.
Born on Dec. 24, 1955, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Mahlon and Bertha (Kurtz) Peachey. On Aug. 11, 1977, he married Rhoda (Hostetler) Peachey who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by eight children, Ruth Peachey of Belleville, David Jr. and Martha Peachey of Ukraine, Samuel and Viola Peachey of Petersburg, Jason and Bethany Peachey of Millersburg Ohio, Matthew and Amanda Peachey of Evanston Wyo., Anna and David Sharp of Allensville, Martha and Josiah Coblentz of Lincoln Mo., and Tim and Rose Peachey of Belleville; 22 grandchildren; siblings, Erma and Kore Kauffman of Adams, N.Y., Anna and John Lee Zook of Belleville, Linda and Luke Kurtz of Friedens, Joseph and Mary Peachey of Allensville, Mary and Ervin Hostetler of Belleville, Mervin and Lois Peachey of Belleville, and Jonathan and Sarah Peachey of McVeytown; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant nieces, Marietta Peachey and Sarah Hostetler.
He was a faithful member of Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church where he served as deacon and later as bishop for 30 years.
He was a dairy farmer for years and later worked in agronomy. He served on the bishop committee of Masters International Ministries and loved to spend time in Ukraine. In the past number of years, he enjoyed being involved in prison ministry. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially loved his grandchildren.
Viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on the Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, at Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church 494 Green Lane, Belleville. Funeral will be held on at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at Locust Grove Mennonite Church 3358 W Main St, Belleville, PA 17004 with Arlan Kurtz officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville.
