Daisy Jean Peters, 94, of Middleburg, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, surrounded by her family.

She was born April 13, 1931, in Burnham, Mifflin County, a daughter of the late Robert J. and Alice M. (Mathieson) Hile of Milroy. Daisy was a 1950 graduate of Burnham High School, where she was May Queen in her senior year. On July 8, 1951, she married Ross M. Peters, who passed away in 2011 after 60 years of marriage.

Her first job was in a 5 and 10 cents store in Huntingdon, she later worked at JC Penney’s, Blough-Wagner Manufacturing Company and Walmart. Most of her life was spent as a homemaker raising her three children and taking pride, along with her husband, in helping their seven grandchildren.

She had lived in Huntingdon, Yeagertown, Kreamer and settled in Middleburg, where the family appreciated the small town friendliness of the community.

Surviving are three children, Rozanne (Garth Bachman) Peters, Phillip Peters and Marcie (Steven) Klinepeter, all of Middleburg; seven grandchildren, Brandon Peters, Aaron Peters, Ashton (Chad) Walter, Britton (Jeff Strausser) Peters, Camron Peters, Logan (Kaitlin) Klinepeter and Olivia Klinepeter; great-grandchildren Emery, Gage, Aaron, Harley and Hudson; sister, Sylvia (H. Ross) Harshbarger, and a brother, William (Joyce) Hile, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was a brother, Robert Hile.

Daisy enjoyed traveling with her husband and family on trips that included Florida, South Carolina, Hawaii, Canada, London, Bermuda, Bahamas, Jamaica, Venezuela, Cancun and Williamsburg, creating memories that her family will cherish forever.

Daisy played cards monthly with a local card club in her younger years and enjoyed time with “the girls.” She loved her family dearly and her time with all of them meant the world to her and to them. She also was a Penn State Football fan and active as a Snyder County Trailblazers 4H leader and was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where she served on various committees.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 31, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Paul Kampa officiating.
