Shirley Mae Ott

Shirley Mae Ott, 80, of Flatland Drive, Lewistown, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, at Valley View Haven in Belleville.
Born Oct. 8, 1944, in Imler, Bedford County, she was a daughter of the late Harry P. and Alice L. (Weaver) Carper. Her husband, Glenn E. Ott Sr., whom she married June 24, 1989, preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2020.
Also preceding her in death were four sisters and one brother.
Surviving are: four children, Gerald D. Baumgardner Jr. and wife, Patricia, Jeffrey D. Baumgardner and wife, Sue, Wendy Bubb and husband, Donald, all of Lewistown, Kathy Baumgardner-Weigle and husband, Darvin, of Biglerville; a brother, Willard “Bub” Carper and wife, Linda, of Huntingdon; eight grandchildren, Nathan Baumgardner and wife, Aleisa, Jessica Mowery and husband, Matt, April Yoder and husband, James, Erin Hatter and husband, Chris, Derek Wileman, Alisha Tuttle and husband, Robert, Alison Marker and husband, Kyle, Brett Baumgardner; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was employed at Goss Candy Co. in Lewistown for 30 years, and later worked in housekeeping at Gettysburg Hospital for over 20 years.
A dedicated member of the Pine Glen Alliance Church, she taught children’s Sunday School for many years and volunteered on numerous church committees.
Shirley put God first in her life, and was very devoted to her family and church. She always considered others before herself.
She was well known for her delicious baked goods and enjoyed giving them away to bless her family, friends, and strangers alike.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at the Pine Glen Alliance Church with Pastor Chad Oberholtzer officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time-of-service Thursday at the church.
