Henry E. Brouse

Henry E. Brouse, 90, of Mifflintown, passed away at 4:48 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on Oct. 13, 1934, in Ringtown, Schuylkill County, he is a son of the late Irvin and Helen (Zaring) Brouse.
On July 24, 1954, he married his late wife, Alice E. (Herendeen) Brouse with whom he was blessed to share almost 67 years of marriage before her passing on July 17, 2021.
He is survived by his children, Roger I. Brouse and his wife, Dana, of Ringtown, David A. Brouse and his wife, Karen, of Dillsburg, Ellen L. Depew and her husband, Alvin, of Gerrardstown, W.V., Karen E. Stouffer and her husband, Jonathan, of Mifflintown; one sister in law, Ruth Ann Brouse; eight grandchildren, Rachel Elgin, Matthew Brouse, A.J. Brouse, Nathan Brouse, Gregory Depew, Eric Depew, Daniel Stouffer, and Jason Stouffer; seventeen great grandchildren; and his faithful canine companion, Ginger.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Brouse Brace; and one brother, Noel Brouse.
Mr. Brouse honorably served our country in the US Army where he served with the 82nd Airbourne Division.
Henry was employed and retired as a Steel Worker at Standard Steel in Burnham.
He attended Pine Grove United Methodist Church, Mifflintown and was a member of the American Legion Post #298, Mifflintown and the Senior Citizen’s Center.
His hobbies included boating, RVing, scuba diving, horseback riding, watching Western’s, fishing in New York and Canada with family and friends, traveling to Florida for years in the winter time and traveling to Alaska, playing Sudoku and Dominoes, tinkering, woodworking, welding, flying and in earlier life, he flew a Piper Cub, and was blessed for being very mechanical and could fix anything; however, his greatest joy came from time spent with his family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at the Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 4633 Cuba Mills Road, Mifflintown with his grandson, Daniel Stouffer officiating. Interment will follow in Union Memorial Garden, Mifflintown where full military burial honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Friday at the church.
