Mary L. Ewing
Mary L. Ewing passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side at the age of 79.
Mary was born April 27, 1945 in Middleburg, a daughter of the late Stanley “Shorty” and Margaret (Klingler) Kaufman.
Mary was a 1963 graduate of Middleburg Joint High School. After graduation she was secretary to the Snyder County Superintendent of schools until the birth of their first son. Later in life she was employed at M&T Bank, Lozier, and Stone Construction.
What’s the “odds” that a “farm boy” from Crossgrove would meet a “city slicker” from Middleburg? Well it happened and on Feb. 27, 1965 Mary married her “best buddy”, Dennis Ewing. Dennis likes to tell the story of marrying Mary as a favor to the Middleburg Boys. (wink! -wink!)
Together Dennis and Mary raised two sons, Chad and Brad (Vicki) Ewing. There are five grandchildren, Cody (Emily) Ewing, Marissa (Kyle) Fry, Amy (Josh) Beachel, Jason (Amanda) Curl, and Ethan Hauck; 10 great-grandchildren, Owen, Addison, Wyatt, Kaleb, Grayson, Trenton, Ethan, Riley, Taylor, and Sierra; two brothers, Jack (Sandi) Kaufman and Dave (Mary) Kaufman; sisters-in-law, Glenda (Andrew) Wagner, Kay Goss, and Sarah Ewing; two brothers-in-law, Clay and Walker (Vicki) Ewing; two close unrelated families, Brian, Kelly, Justin, Sarah, Grayson, Aaron, Olivia, Archer, Brandon and Cheyanne Fisher and John and Susan Hauck.
In addition to her parents Mary has two deceased brothers, Jimmie and Butch; two brothers-in-law, Donald Ewing and Marvin Goss Jr.
Mary loved her family and friends and is very thankful for the time she spent with them. Their love and support helped her get through some trying times.
Mary was an active member of Baker’s United Methodist Church. She loved her church family and was very grateful to them for all their support and prayers.
If you’re reading this, obviously, I’m no longer available, however, make no mistake – I will be watching and you better BE KIND to one another. Read Colossians 3:13.
At Mary’s request there will be no services at this time.
If anyone desires contributions, may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Arrangements are by the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
