Larry H. Osborne

Larry H. Osborne, 87, of Lewistown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday Aug. 7, 2024 at Locust Grove Retirement Village in Mifflin.

Born Aug. 26, 1936 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Harry “Rice” and Lillie Mae (Stringfellow) Osborne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Harry Osborne, Wanda Miller, Clara Colabine, Jay Osborne, Mary Earnest, and an infant sister, Debbie Osborne.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Leona (Amtower) Osborne, whom he married on Dec. 24, 1959, a daughter, Ruth Ann Ream and husband Brad, of Lewistown, sisters, Barbara Fink and companion Jack Watson, of Lewistown, and Linda Byler and husband Paul, of Belleville, grandson, Zachary Ream and fiancÈ Michelle Shirey, and great-grand daughter Madison Ream and fiancÈ Luke Beagle.

Larry honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Army.

He was a faithful member of Parkview Church of the Brethren, where he served as an usher for many years.

Earlier in life, he was employed at Burnham Auto Sales, and Ford-New Holland, and Donsco Inc. in the foundry. He enjoyed attending races at Port Royal, attending local sporting events, and going to the river.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday Aug. 12, 2024 at Parkview Church of the Brethren, 990 Parcheytown Rd, Lewistown, with Pastors Teresa Fink and Bernard Carpenter officiating. There will be a time of visitation held at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Burial in Mt. Rock Cemetery will be private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
