Gary L. King
Gary L. King, 78, of Lewistown, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, at William Penn with his wife and brother by his side. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol (Heller) King. In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by his brother, John Wagner and wife, Sheree, of Saltsburg, brother-in-law, Dennis Heller and wife, Carolyn, of Atlanta, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.
Born on Dec. 5, 1944, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Walter M. and Margaret (King) Wagner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, James and Gary Wagner, and sister, Diana Wagner-Wirt.
Gary was a graduate of Chief Logan High School and obtained his Associate’s Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Gary joined the U.S. Army and worked as a cryptographer from 1962-65. Following his honorable discharge, he went on to work for the Pennsylvania State Police for 25 years. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. King-Barr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
