Ralph H. Fry

Ralph H. Fry, 95, formerly of Thompsontown, passed away at 7:14 p.m., Thursday, June 29, 2023. at Homestead Manor in Denton, MD.

Born on Dec. 16, 1927, in East Waterford, he is a son of the late John and Florence (Kline) Henry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez L. (Eaton) Fry, who passed away on Nov. 26, 2003.

He is survived by his three children, Vickie D. Liske and her husband Phil of Preston, MD, Michael R. Fry of Ridgely, MD, and Tonya M. Hotaling and her husband Scott of Pawleys Island, SC; seven grandchildren, Dale Pinder and his wife Laurie, Marcy Blazejak and her husband Aaron, Shannon Williamson and her husband John, Monica Fry, Brooke Goodling and her husband Jaycen, Colin Breeding and his companion Marley, and Colby Breeding; six great grandchildren; and many generation of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Mr. Fry honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was a career truck driver who retired from Preston Trucking in Preston, MD with over 35 years of service and had at one time owned and operated his own garage in Ridgely, MD. After that, he then was employed for Regester Chevrolet in Thompsontown retiring with more than 30 years of service.

His memberships included, in earlier life, the East Waterford United Methodist Church, the American Antique Car Association, J.E. Bowen Amvets Post 122 in Thompsontown, the American Legion Post 298 in Mifflintown, and had attended the Tuscarora Church of the Brethren in Port Royal.

Ralph was known for his love to buy, restore and work on antique and classic cars, attend sales, auctions, and various car shows.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Rev. Dr. Brand Eaton officiating. Interment will follow in the East Waterford Cemetery, where full military burial rites will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
