In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husbands, James Marlin Baker and Gerald D. Baumgardner Sr.; brother, Wilfred “Wiff” Smith; and sisters, June Snyder, Shirley Hess and Ethel Carter.

She is survived by: sons, Gary L. Baker and wife, Suzanne S., of Granville, Ohio, Charles J. Baker and wife, Carolyn S., of Vandergrift, and Brian J. Baker and wife, Shashona M., of Lewistown; five grandchildren, Kyle Simons Baker, Sarah Jean Wanling Baker, Laurel Baker and husband, Jake Smail, Kari Joy Kubacki and husband, Andrew, and Tyler James Baker; five great-grandchildren, Levi, Liam and Ellowyn Kubacki and Rhapsody Blue and Clair DeLune Smail; and siblings, Richard Smith, of Burnham, Dennis Smith and wife, Nancy, of Holly Springs, N.C., and Pam Zeiders and husband, Paul, of Yeagertown.

Early in life, Kay worked at Long’s Dairy. She retired from Corning Glass Works.

Throughout her life, Kay’s passions were English Springer Spaniels, hummingbirds, flowers, and Penn State. She never met a dog she didn’t love. Kay liked nothing better than sitting on her porch with a hot cup of tea (with a little half and half and two sweeteners) and watching the wildlife in her yard. She enjoyed both gardening and looking at flowers and grew lovely rose gardens for many years. Kay loved decorating for Christmas, eating Tollhouse cookies, watching her grandchildren grow up, and the laughter and silliness any time her three sons got together. She is at peace with her Maker but will be greatly missed by many.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date, with Pastor Bob Marsh officiating. An announcement will be published.

Interment will take place at a later date at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kay’s memory may be made to Rescue Our Furry Friends (ROFF), PO Box 6, Lewistown, PA 17044-0006.
