Harry W. Gardner
								Harry W. Gardner, M.D., 92, of Lewistown, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Valley View Haven Retirement Community in Belleville.
Born October 31, 1930, in Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Victor A. and Sara (Waddell) Gardner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his bride, Margie P. (Pearch) Gardner on May 21, 2022; and his beloved grandson, Harry W. Gardner III.
Harry is survived by his children, Patricia A. Gardner, and husband Frank C. Welsh, Jr., Linda K. Gardner and husband Kurt M. Packer, and Harry W. Gardner, Jr.; and grandchildren, Jack E. Packer, and Mitchell W. Gardner.
He honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Navy.
Dr. Gardner was an alumnus of Washington and Jefferson College, and earned his medical degree in 1957 from the University of Pittsburgh. His 37-year career in medicine began in 1967 as a founding member of the Leopold, Gardner, Creighton Clinic, that later became a part of the Geisinger Medical Group, retiring in 1995.
He was a charter diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice in 1972, he served as president of the Mifflin/Juniata Medical Society and chairman of the family practice department at Lewistown Hospital. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the American Medical Association.
Harry would often say he lived a great life. He was married 67 years to the love of his life, he enjoyed a wonderful relationship with his three children as well as his adored three grandsons. Harry loved practicing family medicine and spoke often of the exceptional people he had the opportunity to work with and the many patients who entrusted their care to him. In his free time, Harry loved to golf and was a skilled woodworker
The celebration of his life and mourning of his passing will be private and at the convenience of the family.
His family would like to thank the staff at Valley View for the special care and compassion shown to their father during his stay.
