Donald W. Bilger
Donald W. Bilger, 80, of State Route 103 North, Lewistown (Longfellow), passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Locust Grove Retirement Village in Mifflin.
Born Oct. 20, 1942, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Brooks W. and Helen Mae (Cavanaugh) Bilger.
Surviving are: a son, Adrian Bilger, of Cohoes, New York; a daughter, Daphne M. Orr and husband, Steven, of Springville, Alabama; a sister, Joan Carter, of Longfellow; a brother, Ronald Bilger and wife, Sue, of Lewistown; five grandchildren, Heidi Bilger, Brianna Bilger, Ian Orr, Clayton Orr, and Julia Orr.
Don was in the banking industry for 40 years, starting as a teller at First National Bank in Lewistown before becoming the Milroy branch manager. He later transferred back to the Lewistown branch as a trust officer before retiring as a broker for Paine Webber in Altoona.
He was a member of the Lewistown Kiwanis and the National Rifle Association.
Don enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and meeting with his investment club friends in Altoona.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Pastor Karen McCachren officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral.
