Becky L. Connolly
Becky L. Connolly, 50, of Centre Hall, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on June 12, 2022, at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born on Jan. 23, 1972, in Marienville, PA she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth (Hepler) McCanna. On May 20, 1995, in Washington, PA, she married Paul D. Connolly, who survives at home.
Becky was a 1990 graduate of East Forest High School and earned her LPN license in 2004. She was employed at Geisinger Health System in Scenery Park until her illness forced her to retire.
Becky was a no-nonsense person. She would tell you how it was whether you wanted to hear it or not. You knew exactly where she stood. She was an honest person. She loved her family and friends and would do anything for anyone in need. She was an avid fisherman and all the catfish in Coyler are breathing a sigh of relief. She also enjoyed antiquing and restoring rusty treasure. She loved all animals, especially her wiener dog, Snickers.
Becky was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer and although the future did not appear promising, she fought with courage and perseverance, giving her six additional years with her loved ones.
Becky is survived by her husband: two children: Daniel R. Connolly and Rachel E. Connolly, both of Centre Hall and siblings: Theodore “Ted” McCanna and is companion, Helen “Toby” Lauer, of Tionesta, PA, Wes McCanna and his companion, Karen Battko, of Marienville, PA, Deborah Dehner and her husband, Larry, of Frills Corners, PA, Denise Mashensic and her husband, Greg, of Marienville, PA, and Cindy Tucker of Canonsburg, PA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a huge circle of friends.
Along with her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her sister Janice McCanna Crispin, brother-in-law Ed Tucker, and just recently by her brother, Rendale McCanna on June 5, 2022.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Geisinger Medical at Scenery Park and the Johns Hopkins Gynecology/Oncology Department for the outstanding care given to Becky during this difficult time. Your love and compassion did not go unnoticed.
