Lean on the Lord for divine inspiration

One morning I woke up with a song that I believe most everyone is familiar with. The song was “Lean on Me” Some of those lyrics are: “Lean on Me when you’re not strong. I’ll be your friend. I’ll help you carry on.” That same morning, a friend messaged me with this comment, “God is guiding us through our path of life. We are leaning heavily on Him.” One of the definitions of lean is to rely for support or inspiration. To cast one’s weight to one side for support/lean on me as we walk. Later on in the week, I read this on face book. “A pastor of a small ...

Which path will we choose?

Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus! Tony Evans said: “Regardless of what happened yesterday, if you stick with the Lord today, your yesterday doesn’t have to control your tomorrow.” Great thought there! When a great multitude came against Judah from beyond the sea, Jehoshaphat along with all Judah, were afraid and fearful. He “set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout Judah,” II Chronicles 20:3. I see three things in his prayer as he is in the house of the Lord. 1 — He recognized who and what God was. He gave Him credit for being ruler ...

Psalm 22: A prayer from the cross

“In evil long I took delight; unawed by shame or fear, till a new object struck my sight And stopped my wild career. I saw one handing on a tree In agony and blood, Who fixed his languid eyes on me As near his cross I stood. Sure, never till my latest breath Can I forget that look, it seemed to change me With his death Thou not a word he spoke. My conscience felt and owned the guilt and plunged me in despair I saw my sins his blood had spilt And helped to nail him there. A second look he gave me, Which said, I freely forgive, This ...
