Ministry to support single moms

BELLEVILLE -- The Mifflin County Single Moms Care and Support Group will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second and fourth Fridays at New Life Church Cafe, 101 Beech St., Burnham from Sept. 10, 2021 to May 27, 2022.

Dinner is served from 6:30 to 7 p.m. for mothers and children. Child care runs from 7 to 8 p.m. while mothers meet in a group. For more information, call or text Ann at (717) 437-4946.

Worship schedule altered

BURNHAM -- Trinity and Burnham United Methodist Church charges will hold services at respective locations as follows:

¯Feb. 27 -- 9 a.m. -- Walnut Street

¯March 6 -- 10:30 a.m. Trinity

¯March 13 -- 9 a.m. Walnut Street

¯March 20 -- 10:30 a.m. Trinity

Masks are recommended, but not mandatory at either church. Please practice social distancing.

Stony Run to host events

McALISTERVILLE -- Stony Run Mission Church, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville, will offer the following programs:

¯Feb. 27 -- Jeff Dunkle will be sharing at 6 p.m.

¯March 13-16 -- Revival services with evangelist, Billy Huddleston. Sunday's services will be at 9:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Services will be at 7 p.m.

¯March 27 -- Mercy Run will perform at 6 p.m.

¯April 15 -- Good Friday candlelight communion service at 7 p.m.

REEDSVILLE --Schrader United Methodist Church will host the following speakers during its 8:30 a.m. Sunday services:

UMC to host Bible study

LEWISTOWN -- First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. They will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

Ministerium to host Lenten series

McALISTERVILLE -- The McAlisterville Ministerium will host the lenten worship series "Questions in the Wilderness." Due to COVID, the service will be recorded and streamed on the McAlisterville Ministerium Facebook page at 7 p.m. each day (www.facebook.com/mcalistervillemin)

¯March 2 -- Graham Fowler of Lost Creek/McCoysville Presbyterian will preach on the theme "What Have We Done?" This service will include the Rite of the Ashes.

¯March 6 -- David McElwee of East Salem Otterbein United Methodist Church will preach on the theme "Will God Show Up?"

¯March 13 -- Perry Munro of Pine Grove/McAlisterville United Methodist Church will preach on "Where Is God Leading?"

¯March 20 -- Kevin Brophy of Browns/St. John's United Methodist Church will preach on the theme "Are We There Yet?"

¯March 27 -- Dave Gingrich of Delaware Mennonite will preach on "What am I watching?"

¯April 3 -- Karen Ward of Trinity Lutheran will preach on "What is in my Heart?"

¯April 10 -- Jodi Strawser of Pass the Salt Ministries will preach on "How can I get Clean?"

¯April 15 -- Terry Smith of Free Spring Church of the Brethren will lead a Good Friday service, answering the question "What will nourish my faith?"

Dates set for Men's Lenten breakfasts

PORT ROYAL -- Port Royal Men's Lenten Pray Breakfast will be held at 7 a.m. each Saturday in the Port Royal Community building. There will be a $5 charge for breakfast to cover the meal. Speakers will be as follows:

Ministry to host fly typing class

LEWISTOWN -- Fisher of Men Ministries will host "The Word on The River," a day of fly fishing at First United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 5. The day will include a fly tying class at 10 a.m.; fly fishing 101 at 1:30 p.m.; fly casting seminar at 3:30 p.m.; fly gear for small mouth at 4:30 p.m. and evening meal with message at 6 p.m. For more information, call (717) 994-3135 or email jream99@gmail.com.

Church to host free meal/movie

MIFFLINTOWN -- First Baptist Church – Family Ministry Center, state Route 35, one mile north of Mifflintown, will host a free movie night with a meal at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 6. The meal begins at 5 p.m. and includes chicken casserole, salad, roll, cake and beverage. The movie, "Sabina: Tortured for Christ, the Nazi Years" will follow the meal. Dress casual. Bring a lawn chair, if you desire.

Lewistown church to host speaker

LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Assembly of God Church will host guest speaker, Pastor Mike Bailey, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6 during the church's worship service.

Watts Memorial to host Lent programs

BELLEVILLE -- Watts Memorial United Methodist Church, 38 Walnut Street, Belleville, will host the following speakers:
