Being our best self for God

Good morning, dear friends! What a lovely morning, in spite of the bugs and humidity I encountered while on my walk just now. But, thank you, Jesus for victory today! Today, I conquered a goal to reach “the big turn”! Our seven year old Levi, “that dog”...our beloved beagle, needed some exercise. I told him that I’d agree to it, but only if he agreed to drag me along. He’s done his part, to say the least. I had decided it was time to shape up. You see, about two years ago, I had lost forty-two (to be exact) pounds. I just felt really good! My mind was so clear and focused on ...

One day we arrived at the care home and noticed that something was different. Grandpa was sitting up in bed and was more energetic than he had been in weeks, maybe months. Even as a 12-year-old boy, I quickly noticed that Grandpa had a message for ...

A plea for unity in the church

The title for today’s message is church unity from I Corinthians 1:10-17. It will be very practical because it is something we can all relate to for if you have been involved in a church long enough you will experience disunity, bickering, arguments, and strife. We can all attest to the importance of our subject matter for today. Why is there disunity in the church? James 4:1 says, “What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is it not the source of your pleasure that you wage war on your members? You lust and do not have so you commit murder. And you are envious and ...
