UMC to host Bible study

LEWISTOWN -- First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. They will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

Schrader to host special speakers

MILROY -- Schrader United Methodist Church will host the following speakers during its 8:30 a.m. services:

• Aug. 14 -- Dennis Hetrick

• Aug. 21 -- Bernard Carpenter

• Aug. 28 -- Bradley Kauffman

Brothers in Grace to perform

EAST SALEM -- Brothers in Grace Gospel Quartet, of Hershey, will present a program of their unique southern Gospel style music at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 at Delaware Mennonite Church, Route 333, East Salem. A free will offering will be lifted.

First Baptist to host special speaker

MIFFLINTOWN -- Yeou-Cherng Bor, president of Ambassadors for Christ, stationed in Paradise, Lancaster County, will speak during church services at First Baptist Church of Mifflintown on Aug. 14.

Wriglesworth to speak in Mifflintown

MIFFLINTOWN -- Former pastor David Wriglesworth will speak during services at First Baptist Church of Juniata County on Sept. 18. Wriglesworth will speak for the church's 60th anniversary. Wriglesworth now resides in South Dakota and was pastor at First Baptist in the 80s.

Carpenter featured speaker at conference

LEWISTOWN -- Pine Glen Alliance Church will host a Hearts and Hands Women's Conference for women 18 years and older at 6 p.m. Oct. 14 in the Family Life Center. Cost is $16 and seating is limited. Seats can be reserved by calling (717) 348-5592, (717) 348-6431 or (717) 250-5143. Reservation deadline is Sept. 25. The topic discussed at 7:15 p.m. will be "Shelter in the Storm."

A love offering will be taken for the speaker, Becky Carpenter, the founder of One Day Closer Ministries.
