God always an answer to our life’s struggles

Greetings in the lovely name of Jesus this morning! How I have missed writing to all of you. Sometimes, we just know that we need some down time. I did. I’m back up and running! Thank you for your faithfulness in reading the things that the Lord lays on my heart. Down time... I think the fall far outweighs the busyness of summer, by far. There are crops to gather in, hunting season underway full tilt, trips to take, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and all the preparation that goes into all of this. I was tired! In my weariness, I saw myself slipping away from the Lord. Not ...

Original Greek meaning of ‘gave’ provides insight to God’s plan

John 3:16 — VIII “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” We are still looking at the word ‘gave’ in John 3:16. The meaning of the original word in Greek, can give us information and insight into the plan and purpose of God in the redemption of His creation. This is what we want to consider in this article. We are in no way trying to add too or change the inerrant, infallible Word of God. Our goal as good stewards of God’s message, is to be accurate with it, and glorify ...

Chelsea Althouse traveled from Robesonia to be among the first volunteers at the Bible display this year. “It’s super exciting!” she said. Prior ...

The Associated Press Sheetal Deo was shocked when she got a letter from her Queens apartment building’s co-op board calling her Diwali decoration “offensive” and demanding she take it down. “My decoration said ‘Happy Diwali’ and had a swastika on it,” said Deo, a physician, who was celebrating the Hindu festival of lights. The equilateral cross with its legs bent at right angles is a millennia-old sacred symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism that represents peace and good fortune. Indigenous people worldwide used it similarly. But in the West, this symbol is often ...

Remembering Benedict XVI

By VICTOR L. SIMPSON The Associated Press ROME — Flying back to Rome from Beirut in September 2012, I was escorted down the aisle to the first-class section of the papal plane and seated beside Pope Benedict XVI. The pope, then 85, looked and sounded weary. He had just completed a delicate, two-day visit to Lebanon as civil war raged in neighboring Syria. It was my 92nd such trip: The first was with Pope John Paul II, the master of papal globe-trotting, and then over the past eight years with Benedict. Because I was planning to retire, Benedict’s trip to Beirut was to be my ...
