UMC to host Bible study

LEWISTOWN — First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. They will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

Worship Services

at Trinity Lutheran Church

McALISTERVILLE — Worship every Sunday at 9 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 420 Main St. in McAlisterville. Watch services live on Facebook or posted on YouTube Channel and website www.trinitymcalisterville.org. Social Time and Adult Sunday School are offered after worship. Sunday, Jan. 8, celebrate Epiphany Sunday and the start of a new season in the Church year. Follow the star the wise men followed to reach Jesus and remember baptisms. The season of Epiphany is a wonderful time for baptisms and new member receptions. Attend on a Sunday to taste, hear and see Jesus. Jesus promised to meet us in the bread and wine of Holy Communion. We hear Jesus’ voice in the reading of the Holy Bible. Jesus keeps his promises so we know these things are true. All are welcome every Sunday with Holy Communion at 9 a.m. Contact the church if you are interested in joining the TLC family of faith. (717) 463-3428. Food giveaway in Beavertown

BEAVERTOWN — Helping Hands, Helping Others Inc. is holding a food giveaway on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 10-11 a.m. at the Beavertown Hillbilly Fever Carnival Grounds off East Sassafras in Beavertown. Always the third Wednesday in the month.

Please do not arrive before 9:30 a.m. There will be plenty of food available. Volunteers are needed and should arrive at 8:30 a.m. to get organized. Any size donation is appreciated and is a 501-C3 tax donation. Send to P.O. Box 151, Beavertown, PA, 17813. Not government funded, so there are no income guidelines.

Drive-thru meal in Beavertown

BEAVERTOWN — Helping Hands, Helping Others Food Giveaway is hosting a drive-thru Smoked BBQ Ribs dinner on Saturday, Jan. 21 beginning at 4 pm at Beaver Lutheran Church along Rt. 522 between Beavertown and Beaver Springs. Dinners are $12 each and proceeds help to support this community food distribution program.

Winter art camp

at Lost Creek Mennonite

MIFFLINTOWN — There will be a winter art camp at Lost Creek Mennonite Church in Mifflintown on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Two classes for children: kids art and kids cooking.
