From staff report HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that his office has secured an agreement to provide refunds to consumers who purchased tickets for shows canceled following the abrupt closure of the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center (HMAC). According to the Attorney General’s Office, online ticketing provider EventIM, which sold tickets for HMAC events through the website SeeTickets.com, has agreed to issue full refunds for tickets purchased for 2026 shows that were canceled when the venue permanently closed in February. PSP issues nearly 700 citations on distracted driving during crackdown

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania State Police issued nearly 700 citations during a three-day statewide enforcement initiative targeting drivers who violated Paul Miller’s Law, which prohibits the use of hand-held mobile devices while driving. The initiative, known as Operation Hands Off, was conducted June 8-10, just days after the law’s one-year warning period ended and citations became enforceable. Takac partners with YMCA, Centre County Pearls for school supply drive

Paul Takac, D-Centre, is partnering with the State College YMCA and Centre County Pearls for the third annual Back-to-School Drive, which will collect school supplies for local students through Aug. 4. Community members are encouraged to donate new school supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, binders, pencils, pens, highlighters, scissors, glue sticks and other classroom essentials. PennDOT centers to close for Juneteenth YEAGERTOWN — All Pennsylvania Department of Transportation driver’s license and photo centers, including the full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed June 19 in observance of Juneteenth National Freedom Day.
