DLI receives $100,000 for grants towards business improvement

Supervisors approve certification for CDBG application

LEWISTOWN — The Derry Township Board of Supervisors approved a certification to apply for 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to move forward with the second phase of the Yeagertown area road reconstruction project at their Monday meeting. The first phase of the project was funded with CDBG allocations from federal fiscal years 2022, 2023, and 2024. State police investigate fatal residential fire

From staff reports NEWPORT — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a fatal residential fire that claimed the lives of an adult and three juveniles early Sunday in Newport Borough. Police said the fire was reported around 3:30 a.m. in the 100 block of North Front Street. The Troop H Fire Marshal Unit is assisting with the investigation, along with multiple area fire departments. Anyone with information or security camera footage related to the fire is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at Newport at (717) 567-3110.
