From staff reports STATE COLLEGE — The Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund has launched a fundraising campaign in celebration of its 20th anniversary in 2026. The organization announced its “$20K for 20 Years” online giving campaign, which is scheduled to begin June 1 and continue for 20 weeks. Organizers said the campaign’s goal is to raise $20,000 to help support 20 cancer patients and their families. Route 45 resurfacing work starts Tuesday

CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced a resurfacing project on a section of Route 45 in Centre County will begin Tuesday. According to PennDOT, the project will improve roadway safety and ride quality. Contractors will begin milling operations on Route 45 between Penn’s Cave Road in Gregg Township and South Street in Millheim Borough. Flaggers will provide traffic control during daylight hours. ALTOONA — The James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center has received more than $1.9 million in federal funding for infrastructure improvement projects during the second quarter of fiscal year 2026.
