Medical center seeks artwork for Huntingdon clinic
HUNTINGDON — James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center is seeking artwork from veterans and community members for display at its new community-based outpatient clinic in Huntingdon.
The initiative aims to feature artwork created by veterans in clinic spaces, with themes including military service, patriotism, regional culture and personal resilience.
Submissions are currently being accepted for the Huntingdon clinic, which is scheduled to open this summer. The initial collection period runs through April 10. Those interested are asked to submit a photo of their artwork by email to VHAALTARTWORK@va.gov.
Accepted mediums include photography, paintings, drawings, etchings, stained glass and needlepoint. All submissions will be reviewed before acceptance, and the medical center will determine placement based on facility needs.
Officials said donated artwork will not be returned unless it cannot be used. The value of submitted pieces should be under $300, and artwork valued over $999 will not be accepted. Those considering higher-value donations are asked to contact the Center for Development and Civic Engagement at 814-943-8164, ext. 17141.
While the project will begin with the Huntingdon clinic, officials said similar efforts may expand to other facilities in the future.
