Juniata County man killed in pedestrian crash

From staff reports MIFFLINTOWN — A 74-year-old Juniata County man died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing William Penn Highway on Wednesday night, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Joseph Barrick, of Mifflintown, was struck at approximately 9:13 p.m. while in the roadway, according to state police at Lewistown. Police said the driver, a 19-year-old woman operating a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer, attempted to swerve to avoid Barrick but was unable to avoid the collision. LEWISTOWN — A Burnham man is facing 144 felony charges after investigators alleged a home surveillance system captured nude images of his 16-year-old relative that were later recovered during a forensic examination of his cellphone. Aaron Oneil Cox, 49, of Burnham, was charged Tuesday by the Mifflin County Regional Police Department with 72 counts of sexual abuse of children and 72 counts of child sexual abuse material. John Street railroad crossing closing Monday

CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Norfolk Southern plans to close their crossing along Route 3014 (John Street) in the Village of Mattawana, Bratton Township, on Monday, June 29. The closure will allow them to replace the crossing surface, which will improve rail infrastructure, ride quality, and enhance safety for motorists.
