MOUNT UNION — Police are investigating a motorcycle crash during Mount Union’s annual Halloween parade after witnesses reported a rider speeding along the parade route and nearly striking pedestrians and participants. Pickup destroyed in Narrows fire; no injuries reported

MIFFLINTOWN — A pickup truck was destroyed in a fire early Friday along eastbound Route 322 in the Lewistown Narrows, according to Juniata County dispatch. Mifflintown Hose Company No. 1 reported no injuries. Firefighters were dispatched at 12:18 a.m. to Fermanagh Township, east of the fishing access, the fire company reported. The company said Engine 2 responded with five personnel aboard. Crews found the truck ablaze and deployed a hose line. Firefighters quickly contained the fire, the company said. Decatur Township receives $250,000 state grant

McCLURE — Decatur Township has been awarded a $250,000 state grant to purchase a new backhoe loader and related equipment for road maintenance and infrastructure projects. State Rep. David Rowe, R-85, announced the funding through Pennsylvania's Economic Development and Community Development Initiatives Program.
