Officials approve advertising lot for sale
LEWISTOWN — Derry Township Supervisors announced Monday that bidding is open for a Woodland Avenue lot, where two homes once stood.
Supervisors approved advertising the available land at 545-547 Woodland Ave.
Chairman Ronald Napikoski Jr. asked Township Manager Kelly Shutes if much could be done with the land.
Shutes said that, while building two homes is not feasible for the Township, a potential owner could likely build one with variants.
Napikoski stated that supervisors reserve the right to reject bids.
During regular business, supervisors approved paying the difference for counter-shutter windows for the mini golf ticket booth in the amount of $1,910.
According to supervisors, Central PA Dock & Door donated $5,000 toward the purchase of three of the shutter windows, but the quoted price was slightly higher.
Supervisors also approved two park use applications:
• The annual Shining Light Through the Darkness event held Dec. 5, through Jan. 8, 2027;
• The annual Juniata Behavioral & Developmental Health Out of Darkness Walk held Oct. 24.
