Former patrolman receives state senate citation

GRANVILLE — A representative of Sen. Judy Ward’s office presented former Granville Township Police Department Patrolman William H. Eversole Jr. with a state senate citation during a Granville Township Supervisors meeting Monday.

John Breneman, Ward’s constituent outreach specialist, thanked Eversole for his 25 years of service.

Eversole joined the Granville Township Police Department on Feb 21, 2001, as a patrolman.

Breneman said, “Throughout his tenure officer Eversole merits high praise and commendation to make Pennsylvania a safer place to live, work and grow and whereas throughout his tenure officer Eversole faithfully endeavored to preserve and protect the health, safety and welfare of his fellow citizens.”

Breneman added, “In the finest spirit of public service, he demonstrated exemplary knowledge, ability and integrity in carrying out his many responsibilities and earned deep respect and gratitude for his tireless devotion to duty.”

In other news, supervisors authorized Chief Chad Brehman to attend the Dallas Crimes Against Children Conference in August.

According to Township Manager Mary Herto, the conference provides specialized training and workshops in various critical fields involved in crimes against children such as law enforcement, prosecution, child protective services, child advocacy center staff, probation, and parole.

Herto shared that Brehman as well as officers from each police department received a scholarship from the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Pennsylvania to attend this conference.

Supervisors also authorized a modification to their grant agreement to execute a Body and Vehicle Camera Purchase Agreement.

“If approved, we will be utilizing a grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency to upgrade the Department Axon body camera system and the addition of dashboard cameras equipped with Automated License plate readers,” said Herto.

The grant will pay a portion of the cost, and the general fund will pay the remaining balance.

In regular business, supervisors approved department reports for March 2026 including the account summary report, road report, police report, code officer report and the sewer department report.
