Perry County man sentenced to up to 131 years in prison

Allamon convicted of child abuse charges

From staff reports

HARRISBURG — A Perry County man was sentenced Tuesday to 65½ to 131 years in prison for physically and sexually abusing four children over several decades, Attorney General Dave Sunday announced.

A Perry County jury convicted Andrew Allamon, 55, in October following a four-day trial. He was found guilty of multiple counts including rape, unlawful contact with a minor, sexual assault, indecent assault of a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

A Perry County judge imposed the sentence Tuesday.

“This defendant no longer presents a threat to anyone in our communities, as this sentence ensures he will be behind bars for the rest of his life,” Sunday said in a statement. “We hope the survivors who bravely testified at trial can take solace from this outcome and continue moving on with their lives.”

According to evidence presented by the Office of Attorney General, Allamon used a pocket knife during some of the assaults and in other acts of cruelty. Prosecutors said he would beat the victims or force them to perform punishments if they did not comply.

The case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorneys General Lauren Eichelberger and Julianne Danchak.
