JCHS spring meeting and dinner April 22
MEXICO, Pa. — The Juniata County Historical Society spring meeting and dinner will be April 22 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Walker Grange, Mexico. Guest speaker for the event will be weatherman Chuck Rhodes.
A Lewistown native, Rhodes began his broadcasting career at WMRF Radio, Lewistown in 1972. A year later, he transitioned to television news at WTPA-TV (ABC 27) in Harrisburg.
Rhodes will present an informal program, discussing his start in the TV news and weather business, highlighting technical and format changes, plus many of the big news and weather events of his career.
A roast chicken dinner will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m.. Tickets are $25 each and can be picked up any Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at JCHS Archives, 498 Jefferson St., Suite B, Mifflintown, PA 17059. Call (717) 436-5152 to reserve tickets or mail a check complete with a stamped envelope if you wish tickets to be returned to you. Deadline for tickets is April 14.
Union-Snyder Agency on Aging closed Good Friday
LEWISBURG — The Union-Snyder Agency on Aging, Inc. office and all of its senior centers will be closed Friday, April 3 in recognition of Good Friday and the Easter holiday.
