Celebrating women
The Juniata County Business and Professional Women recently gathered to support local youth by assembling 50 Weekend Wellness bags for school students in need. The bags provided children with supplemental meals to take home, helping bridge the gap when school is not in session. The project is part of the club’s ongoing commitment to addressing food insecurity throughout the county. The completed bags will be distributed through the Juniata County Food Pantry. Glenda Fultz, director of the Juniata County Food Pantry, attended the meeting to share current statistics and insights about the growing number of families and individuals who rely on the pantry’s services. Her update underscored the continued need for community support and the importance of programs like Weekend Wellness. - Holly Maxwell was the recipient of an Angelo’s gift cart as part of the Juniata County Business and Professional Women’s community event in February. Participants were invited to visit local businesses to look for special ‘hearts’ displayed in storefronts and customer areas. Each heart included a QR code that allowed community members to submit an entry into the drawing. Maxwell’s winning entry came after finding one of the hearts displayed by participating businesses.
