From staff reports

LEWISTOWN — Light snow is expected Sunday in the Juniata River Valley, including Mifflin County and Juniata County, with forecasters predicting 1 to 3 inches of accumulation on grassy and untreated surfaces. Snow is most likely during the afternoon and evening, with minor impacts on travel expected. Temperatures are expected to remain near or just below freezing.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-40s, offering a brief break from the colder conditions before Sunday’s winter weather. Overnight lows Saturday night will dip as colder air settles in.

Monday is expected to bring a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the low 40s. Temperatures will remain chilly, and a few scattered snow showers are possible, mainly in the morning.

The National Weather Service advises residents to monitor forecasts and exercise caution if traveling during periods of snow. Colder-than-average temperatures are expected to continue into early next week, with additional chances for flurries. Even light snow can create slick roads, particularly on untreated surfaces.

Starting at $2.99/week.
