Area woman charged with terroristic threats

LEWISTOWN — Shailynne L. Speece, 22, of Lewistown, was charged with making terroristic threats and harassment after Lewistown Police Department officers investigated an incident involving a possible assault at the Steelworker Tavern in Burnham at 3:50 p.m. on Feb. 7, according to a release issued on Friday. Upon Mifflin County Regional Police Department offers investigating the incident, the victim in the case reported they were threatened by Speece at the Major League Bottle Shop,135 Logan St., Lewistown, before being assaulted, the report said. Speece reportedly followed the victim out of the Major League around midnight and shouted obscenities, the report said, and the victim was assaulted at the Steelworker by Speece. At 5:18 AM, the victim was contacted by Speece, who sent a message with more obscenities through social media, the report said, and officers were provided a copy of the messages.

Lewistown woman charged with theft of laptop

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Logan Street in Lewistown for a domestic dispute involving a stolen laptop at 11:32 a.m. on Feb. 9, according to a release issued on Friday. Residents were arguing that Jennie L. Multop, 53, of Lewistown, stole a laptop, the report said, but Multop said she returned the laptop the night prior. Multop gave consent for officers to search her room, the report said, and officers located the laptop in a closet that was locked by a key that she had. Multop said she took the laptop to apply for unemployment, the report said, and Multop was charged with theft by unlawful taking.

Lewistown man charged with making terroristic threats, assault

LEWISTOWN — A 36-year-old Lewistown man was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and simple assault after a stabbing incident with a male roommate over the roommate’s dog fighting with cats inside their residence at 10 S. Grand St., Lewistown, at 12:09 p.m. on Feb. 9, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. James M. Harman brandished a knife during an argument and told the other male to go grab a weapon, the report said, and Harman then advanced towards the roommate, slashing his knife which caused a deep laceration on his face just below his right eye. Harman was shouting “I’m going to kill you!” the report said, and the victim picked up a chair in self defense but was shoved against a wall. A female on scene called 911 which caused Harman to flee the residence, the report said, and officers eventually located Harman nearby with the knife used in the assault. Officers noted a trail of blood inside the residence that matched statements provided, the report said, and

EMS transported the victim to the hospital. The laceration was deep and staff estimated it would take 10 to 12 stitches to close but reported that it was not life threatening.

Lewistown woman charged with theft and criminal mischief

LEWISTOWN — A 55-year-old Lewistown woman is being charged with theft and criminal mischief after making an unauthorized CashApp transaction in the amount of $109 on another individual’s phone at 5:13 p.m. on Feb. 9, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Officers received a complaint that a resident lost their phone then saw a transaction sent to “Tammy Fry,” the report said, and the resident reported Fry resides in the Kish Apartments in Lewistown. The phone has since been turned off and could not be located, the report said, and officers contacted Tammy L. Fry, who denied finding the phone. Fry told officers that she doesn’t even have CashApp, the report said, the officer asked if he could look at her phone to verify this. Fry showed the officer her phone which showed an alert for a CashApp cash withdrawal for $105, the report said, and Fry admitted to lying to the officer and reported that she smashed the phone after making the unauthorized transfer. The damaged phone was returned to the owner, the report said, and police are trying to determine its value

Lewistown woman arrested on warrants

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers observed a vehicle on Church Lane in Lewistown being driven with an inoperable license plate light at 12:28 a.m. on Feb. 12, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers stopped the vehicle and the driver provided a false name, the report said, but officers were aware that the driver was Keisha E. Harris, 22, of Lewistown, who had a warrant just issued for her arrest relating to a PFA violation. Harris had two active warrants for her arrest, the report said, and she admitted when confronted who she was. She was taken into custody, the report said, and, during a search, Harris was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. Harris also had a suspended license and a suspended registration, the report said, and she was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown on her warrants and charged with drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession and summary offenses.

Lewistown man jailed on assault charges

LEWISTOWN — Dane L. McCardle, 53, of Lewistown, was charged with simple assault and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown pending his arraignment, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. At 9:13 p.m. on Feb. 12, officers responded to the 100 block of Pannebaker Avenue in Lewistown for a report that McCardle was assaulting a female, the report said, and McCardle fled on foot prior to police arriving. Officers observed a female whose eye was red, swollen, and closing shut from swelling, the report said, and the female reported that McCardle knocked her down, ripped her hair out and punched her several times. Officers observed clumps of hair in a toilet as well as items and glass broken, the report said, and McCardle was located at a nearby residence and taken into custody.
