Man charged with criminal mischief
LEWISTOWN — A 42-year-old Derry Township man was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief by Lewistown Police Department officers after a disturbance at a bank on East Market Street in Lewistown on Jan. 16, according to a release issued on Friday. At 10:07 a.m., Andrew S. Kensinger entered the bank at 10:07 a.m. to check on an account that had been inactive for two years, the report said, and the account had a negative balance due to fees relating to inactive accounts. Kensinger became irate and was shouting obscenities, the report said, and Kensinger began slamming a door multiple times as he left causing damage to the walls.
Lewistown woman faces theft charge
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers received a theft complaint from the 100 block of North Brown Street in Lewistown at 10:42 a.m. on Jan. 17, according to a release issued on Friday. A resident reported that Bryawna N. Wagner, 19, of Lewistown, came over to their residence the night prior, the report said, and when Wagner left, the resident noticed their $1,200 iPhone was missing. An application was used to locate the phone at Wagner’s mother’s house on West Third Street, the report said, and the resident and a relative made contact with Wagner who messaged that the phone would be outside. The resident was able to retrieve the phone, the report said, and the resident reported that a similar incident occurred the week prior involving Wagner. Wagner was charged with theft by unlawful taking, the report said.
Juniata County residents face possession charges
LEWISTOWN — A Juniata County man and woman have been charged with possession of drugs after a police stop at 9:27 p.m. on Jan. 19, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Officers followed a vehicle on West Fourth Street in Lewistown that was repeatedly crossing the lane dividers and driving in a manner that suggested the driver was impaired, the report said, and officers stopped the vehicle to the former Red’s Diner parking lot. A female in the back seat provided a false name and appeared to be hiding an object between her legs and made furtive movements when she thought the officer was no longer looking in her direction, the police said, and the report said, officers had the female exit the vehicle and she was identified as Natalie Malikov, 27, of Port Royal, using a Massachusetts identification card. Malikov reported having marijuana that she was not legally allowed to possess as well as a digital scale in the vehicle, the report said, and officers towed the vehicle and, after getting a warrant, searched the vehicle and located methamphetamine and meth pipes inside a bag belonging to Malikov. She was charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers also located a meth pipe associated with the front passenger, Robert S. Leister, 51, of Mifflin, the report said, and he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
