Police respond to DUI crash

PORT ROYAL — Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a vehicle crash on May 31, at around 10 p.m. when they found the driver under the influence of alcohol.

The report states that Kevin Adams, 49, of Port Royal, was operating a 2015 Dodge Ram in the area of Licking Street and Milford Street.

No injuries sustained in Ferguson Valley Road crash

McVEYTOWN — On Friday, Aug. 8, Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to the area of US Highway 522 South at its intersection with Ferguson Valley Road for a two-vehicle crash.

Police said at around 6 p.m. Bryson Hughes, 18, of McVeytown, was traveling north on US Highway 522, when he attempted to turn into a driveway. At that time, police said a 2012 Chevy Silverado, operated by Wesley Mock, 55, of James Creek, was traveling behind Hughes and neglected to slow down.

The report says Mock rear-ended the 2003 Chevy Silverado, causing disabling damage. Both drivers as well as the Silverado passenger Tracy Mock, 52, of James Creek, were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.

Two vehicles sustain disabling damage in crash

THOMPSONTOWN — On Monday, Aug. 11, officers of PSP at Lewistown responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred at about 11 a.m. on state Route 333.

The report states that a 2009 Chevy Cobalt, driven by Janet Zeiders, 83, of Thompsontown, was traveling eastbound in the area of Route 333 when a 2021 Honda Accord driven by Jenessa Messimer, 45, of Newport, was traveling westbound. Police said when Zeiders slowed down to make a left turn into Schlegel’s Grocery and Hardware store, Messimer could not avoid a collision with the Cobalt. Her vehicle struck the front passenger side of the Cobalt.

Police said the Cobalt continued through an area of bushes at the entrance of the store.

The Accord came to a final rest on the roadway.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, although the driver of the Cobalt was suspected to have serious injuries and was transported to Geisinger Medical Center.

The driver of the Accord refused transport, police said. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.
