Taylor Swift fans prepare for new album

Like most teenage girls, I too enjoy Taylor Swift and her entire discography. Lucky for us, she just announced her 12th studio album, titled “The Life of a Showgirl” and it’s set to release on Oct. 3.

Taylor Swift first gained recognition with the release of her hit single “Tim McGraw” in 2006, which was followed by her self-titled debut album. Following her rise to fame as a country music star, Swift released five more albums, evolving her sound with each one.

Swift took the world by storm with songs like “Lover,” “Anti-Hero,” and “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” all with more than one billion streams.

Songs like “Blank Space” and “Cruel Summer” each have more than two billion streams. Even music videos for songs like “Shake It Off” and “Blank Space” have more than three billion streams on YouTube.

Swift began to prove that she was incapable of making a record that didn’t have at least one popular song. After those albums, Swift decided she couldn’t sit back and do nothing about her lack of ownership of the original recordings of her songs.

So, she announced that she would be re-recording her first six albums and add “Taylor’s Version” after the title, representing her newfound ownership. These re-recorded albums would also feature songs “from the vault,” meaning songs she wrote during the time of the original album that didn’t make the cut.

She then released four “Taylor’s Version” albums along with two new albums, “Midnights” and “The Tortured Poets Department.”

When she re-recorded existing songs and released new albums, Swift also toured the world with her history-making, “Eras Tour,” which became the highest-grossing concert tour in history. Swift bought back her original recordings from her first six albums, and fell in love with a fellow public figure, Travis Kelce.

Swift received mixed feelings about attending NFL games in support of her new relationship, which sometimes stole the spotlight.

Despite football fans’ disapproval of Swift and Kelce’s relationship, she joined Travis and Jason Kelce on their podcast “New Heights” to announce her 12th studio album.

Although the podcast is typically about the NFL and hosts professional athletes, Swift fit in perfectly.

The most exciting part for Swift fans was the announcement of the album, the cover art, and the tracklist with 12 songs titled “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Opalite,” “Father Figure,” “Eldest Daughter,” “Ruin The Friendship,” “Actually Romantic,” “Wi$h Li$t,” “Wood,” “CANCELLED!,” “Honey,” and “The Life of a Showgirl” featuring Sabrina Carpenter.

Fans are excited for a new album, which due to the title, is expected to be an inside look into Swift’s life during the Eras tour.

The album touches on subjects like the struggles of maintaining relationships during a tour, her active love life, and post-tour life.

Swift also explained that this album will be a complete 180 from her previous more somber album, as this new album feels much more upbeat and energetic.
