Mapleton Depot man
jailed on assault charges
KISTLER — on Sunday, Aug. 24, Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a report of a domestic assault at around 1 p.m.
According to the report, an unnamed 24 year old Mount Union woman said that Mason Swanger, 21, of Mapleton Depot, caused minor injuries to her as the result of an argument that took place at the home on Cedar Street.
Swanger was charged with simple assault and harassment and is currently being held at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.
Citations issued at sobriety checkpoint
McVEYTOWN — Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown conducted a sobriety check point on Friday, Aug. 22, at state Route 522, Oliver Township.
According to the report, two individuals were cited for driving under the influence and one person was arrested on drug charges.
Officers issued 10 citations and 14 warnings.
Burnham man cited with possession
LEWISTOWN — According to a report, Pennsylvania state Police at Lewistown conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Ford Escape on Monday.
Officers pulled over Clair Fisher, 52, of Burnham, at around 8:15 p.m. in the 10400 block of Old Route 22 Road, Granville Township, for a violation when they found Fisher in possession of a small amount of marajuana and paraphernalia.
Charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge Craig Weston’s office.
McClure man faces drug charges
McVEYTOWN — On Monday, officers from Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown observed a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt making a traffic violation around 5 p.m. on US Highway 522 south.
The report states that once pulled over officers found the driver Isaac Specht, 19, of McClure, in possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Kent Smith.
