Vehicle crash results in DUI charges

McCLURE — Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a vehicle crash on Saturday, July 20, around 4 p.m.

Upon arrival at the scene on Samuels Church Road, officers determined that the driver, Nathan Shoop, 27, of McClure, who was operating a 2007 Nissan Titan, was under the influence of alcohol. Shoop was charged through the District Court

No injuries sustained in crash involving teen

MIDDLEBURG — A Shamokin Dam teen was charged as a result of a vehicle crash that took place on Saturday around midnight.

According to the report, officers from Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove responded to the scene of Freeburg Road, Washington Township, where they located the 16-year-old male operating a 2014 Ford Focus.

The report states that the driver was traveling southbound on Freeburg Road when he approached a right hand curve where he failed to negotiate said curve proceeding to travel through the intersection with Whiskey Ridge Road where the vehicle struck several shrubs while continuing on through its southbound path through a grass field where it got stuck in another line of numerous shrubs as stated in the report.

The teen was wearing his seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries as a result of the crash.

Police seek information in burglary

RICHFIELD– According to a report, officers are investigating a burglary that took place on Saturday.

Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown were contacted at around 1:30 p.m. by Rodney Hoffman, 67, of Cocolamus, who wanted to report that an air compressor valued at $699.99, a sticker welder valued at $662, and a battery charger valued at $60 were stolen from his residence on Lauver Valley Road, Monroe Township.
